8/25/14 – NLIHC Releases Report on Affordable Rental Housing Gap

The National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) just released its annual report on the state of rental housing for lower income households. Unlike previous years, the report examines the state of housing for those earning 15% Area Median Income (AMI) or less in addition to its typical analysis of 30% AMI households. It reports that 75% of 30% AMI households and 90% of 15% AMI households spent more than half their income on rent and utilities in 2012.
